Green Oil (GO) Removal Technology

Janus Technologies proudly introduces its cutting-edge Green Oil (GO) Removal Technology, a revolutionary solution designed to address the challenges associated with the presence of green oil in various industrial processes. Our technology is engineered to efficiently and sustainably remove green oil contaminants, enhancing the overall quality and purity of the end products.

With a focus on minimizing environmental impact, Janus Technologies employs advanced methods and proprietary processes to achieve unparalleled results in green oil removal.

Carbonyl Removal from Hydrocarbon Streams

Carbonyls are generated in the Steam Crackers during the production of base petrochemicals.

Carbonyls polymerize to form “red oil’ upon contact with an alkali media; but, can be removed from the cracked gas upstream of the AGRS and/or in the liquid C3’s or C4’s streams downstream of the Depropanizer and Debutanizer, respectively.

By chemical reaction with Sodium Bisulfite (SBS), carbonyls form an adduct and can be regenerated by heating to mild temperatures.

Carbonyl Removal Using Solid SBS on Alumina

Carbonyls contained in liquid hydrocarbon streams can be adsorbed at 40-45°C on activated alumina impregnated with SBS (as a sorbent); and is regenerated at mild temperatures.
